Perfect Giddimani
Born Greg Rose, Perfect grew up in the cool hills of Bamboo in the parish of St. Ann, releasing his first album ‘Giddimani’ in 2006.
As the saying ‘forward ever, backwards never’ suggests, progress on the journey of life is the result of hard work and perseverance. It is with this mentality that Dynasty Records is about to present the album Journey of 1000 Miles from international reggae artist Perfect Giddimani.
Perfect grew up listening to his father’s jukebox, contantly being exposed to classic American R&B as well as popular Jamaican rhythms of the time. Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Sade, Gil Scott Heron and Toots Hibbert were among his early favorites and have had a lasting influence on his musical style, a style as diverse as the countries where he’s performed.
Since coming onto the scene in 2006 with his smash hit Handcart Bwoy, Perfect Giddimani has released a host of albums – Giddimani, Born Dead with Life, Karma, French Connection, and Back for the First Time – and literally hundreds of singles showcasing his various musical influences and styles. However, such a diverse collection of his talent and versatility had never been featured on one work until the release of Journey of 1000 Miles.
Perfect Giddimani is an artist who can sing on any style of rhythm, whether it’s roots reggae, dancehall, pop or hip hop. With a broad range of subject matter touching on everything from life (Journey of 1000 Miles, Happy) and death (Sonny Boy), to African repatriation (Coming Home) and healthy food (Dinner Time), Perfect paints a vivid picture of the human experience and what it means to make the best of one’s journey. In his case, that journey has taken him around the world, performing at all of the major international reggae festivals.
Produced by MG and Dan for Dynasty Records and recorded between Jamaica and Dynasty’s studio in Seattle, Journey of 1000 Miles displays a multitude of styles ranging across the musical spectrum.
