There is a wide spectrum of topics covered by Reggae music but you will tend to find a lot of songs dealing with Love. Of course, you will find a strong representation of tunes uplifting the 'Herb".
Politics is another area that gets a lot of attention from Reggae artists. For us though, we would say our favourite songs are the spiritually uplifting ones.
Do you know any conscious Reggae artists?
Is that a trick question? I think you’ll find that most Reggae artists tend to be conscious as a result of the nature of the artform. Reggae lends itself to positive and uplifting music so you tend to find that this is mainly the kind of music that artists make. Can I submit my Reggae Music Video to you?
Yes, of course. We accept submissions and you can do so easily via our submission form. Please bear in mind though that we focus specifically on the promotion of Reggae music so music videos from any genres outside of that will not be accepted.
Do you offer marketing services for Reggae Acts?
That is not something that we do specifically at the moment although the idea of the site is to promote Reggae music in general. Of course, we are always happy to feature any news and updates from the industry so feel free to send us any press releases or info of that sort.
How many Reggae Artists are there in the world?
Wow, that's a tough one. We would definitely say hundreds maybe even thousands. We are doing what we can to put all the artists in one place so maybe in a few years, we'll be able to give you a more accurate answer.
Do you struggle with knowing how to spell Reggae?
We get asked this many times - How do you spell Reggae? Well, I'm sure you've seen the answer to this in the question but just for clarification, the correct spelling is R-E-G-G-A-E. Some people commonly get confused with the last two letters putting it as E-A instead of A-E.
Can white people sing Reggae?
Do you mean general? If so, of course, they can unless they’re living in some dictatorship that restricts freedom of expression. If you’re asking if there are any credible white Reggae artists, the answer again is yes. Just take a look at artists like Gentleman or the Reggae band SOJA. You won’t be disappointed with the music you hear.
